Long Grove Arts & Music Council

The Long Grove Arts and Music Council (LGAMC – www.lgamc.org), an all-volunteer non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is looking for a President/Director to manage its free Sunday afternoon Summer Concert Series, which provides an eclectic mix of singer-songwriter original music ranging from folk, blue grass, and chamber music to jazz, rock, and blues, with everything in between.  Our artists range from the locally known and beloved to nationally acclaimed Grammy award winning performers who give their all to our Summer Concert Series in the serene setting of Long Grove.

The duties of the President/Director are as follows:

  • Provide leadership to the LGAMC and the community
  • Preside over committee and board meetings, approximately bi-weekly in-season and monthly off-season, and set the agenda
  • Search for and identify performers for the Summer Concert Series
  • Negotiate contracts with performers
  • Oversee and spearhead fundraising efforts
  • Work with the treasurer in setting the annual budget
  • Coordinate tasks for volunteers
  • General coordination of concerts and other related events
  • Act as an intermediary between Village of Long Grove and LGAMC
  • Determine grant opportunities and work with grant writers

The successful candidate for President/Director will demonstrate a love of the arts and experience with leading non-profit groups or other organizations. This individual will have a vision for the organization and ability to lead colleagues to create memorable events in the community of Long Grove.
